The Waters of Baptism

After several months of faithful attendance, Sister Uyen and her daughter Nhi accepted invitations to baptism.  They were taught regular in member's homes, and have a good basic understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a desire to be baptized and follow Him.  Elder Johnson was asked to perform the baptism.

Vital to the whole series of events is Sister Debbie Newcombe, who is a great friend to Uyen and has been the one who always attends the missionary lessons with them, and arranges rides to Church.  Khoi is younger than 8, and will be baptized then.  Their friend Tommy has also been a great support, and helps translate Gospel concepts into Vietnamese to make it easier for them to understand.

Sister Johnson gave a talk on Baptism, and she did her usual outstanding presentation of that great principle in clear and straightforward terms.  The confirmations were done by Br. Robert Boutilier.

Thorughout the teaching process, we were privileged to have Elder Huynh from the California _____ Mission and his companions Elders Carter and Romney help teach the missionary lessons in Vietnamese via Zoom.  We were able to link them in for the service, and Elder Huynh was able to give the talk on the Holy Ghost via Zoom.  They have been a great help to us in this process.
