What's up Sister Johnson?

What's up, Sister Johnson?

It's Elder Johnson up on a ladder installing a new light fixture to replace one that hasn't worked for years.  Sister Johnson is handing him parts and tools.

We're helping branch members Bruce and Winnie get their home ready to sell.  They're getting older, and have decided to move to be with their daughter.  The branch members worked to get their home cleaned up after they were gone for nearly 2 years.  The project was successful, as their home sold quickly.  We will be sorry to see them move, as they were a lively addition to the Sydney Branch.  We wish them well in their new family home.

Canadian flags are at half-mast to mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth, who was also the Soverign of Canada.  They really liked and respected her.  The jury is still out on King Charles though.

We check in with Sister Joan frequently.  She lives along in a cozy apartment, but health challenges won't permit that much longer.  She's trying to get to her daughter's in Halifax to see if a permanent move may be feasible.  She is always funny and straightforward, we enjoy visiting with her.  She recently taught a Relief Society lesson, it was one of her life's goals, and by all accounts she did a good job of it.

After Zone Conference, we load Elder and Sister Burch in our car and head south to Liverpool, NS.  Elder Burch served there as a young missionary 40 years ago, and we found the apartment where he lived.  Still there and still looks the same from the outside, according to him.

We had a lovely seafood supper at this local inn/restaurant/pub in Liverpool, with the Burch's.  They are a delightful and dedicated couple who signed up for 23 months in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, also known as "the rock", which is very descriptive.  Due to a revised Zone Conference schedule, we won't get to see them again until after their mission is finished.  We love them and wish them the best!

Since we have been out, our oldest grandson Henry Prusse has accepted a mission call to California Roseville, has completed his MTC training and is now serving there.  We expect great things from him, and will post updates we receive.  We are excited to have the 1st and 3rd generations of our family serving at the same time.
